The Attachment Network of Connecticut (ANCT) is a multi-disciplinary collection of individuals with strong interests in Attachment Theory and it's relevance for improving the human condition via focused interventions delivered at individual, group, family, and community levels.

Mission
The long-term goals of the Attachment Network of Connecticut are to: 1) establish a shared community agenda of equipping parents, teachers, providers, and caregivers with the social and emotional tools and capacities that foster secure attachment relationships; 2) transmit attachment-based knowledge and processes to those who care for, teach, and interact with infants, children, students, or clients for the purpose of equipping them with the personal and relational capacities needed to thrive in life; and 3) use "quality of relationship" as an organizing principle for linking community organizations in a shared focus with the understanding that improved quality of relationship helps all community organizations achieve their unique purpose.
6/19/20 ANCT Social Justice Statement:
The Attachment Network of Connecticut (ANCT) joins those who are protesting the institutional violence against people of color by seeking systemic changes in response to systemic racism. ANCT recognizes the inherent value of all human beings and supports early, secure attachment and social emotional development for all people. We support practices that foster these basic building blocks in life. We recognize that there are inequalities and disparities based on ethnic and cultural bias. We believe that racism inherently erodes attachment and fragments the human community. Along with our brothers and sisters, we seek to engage in dialogue and increase our awareness and understanding about ways that we may have inadvertently fostered ideas or practices that were non-inclusive or harmful to people of color, or remained silent in the face of such ideas and practices. It is our sincere hope to use this moment, as many around us reflect on how things have gone terribly awry, to work as part of a collective in creating a future that truly embodies these basic human values.
